Especially if you’re the new kid in town…or, the blogosphere in our case, we all want readers to our posts. Increased readers or traffic increases our opportunities, such as getting paid sponsorships, review products, and network with key people in our industry.
Here are 5 Simple Ways to Drive Traffic to Your Kid Blog
#1 Social media. The best way for kid bloggers is through Twitter. Overseen by your parents of course. The key is to create great tweets that grabs peoples attention, keeps them curious, make them laugh or even stir up controversy. That’s why it’s important that you tweet out all your blogposts, and have great titles that will make them click through to your blog.
#2 Article marketing. It’s important to write high-quality articles in your niche or write solutions to your target market’s biggest problems. Then you submit to a few article submission directories with a brief bio box that has a call to action to click through to you site. Like “Download your free ebook, “How to Start a Kid Blog for Fun & Profit” at http://KidBloggersClub.com/ebook” or, just subscribe to our email list on the upper right hand corner of this blog.
#3 Guest Blogging. Offer an informative, controversial or entertaining post, to authority blogs in your niche. Don’t forget to promote your guest post on your blog, Twitter account and even email list.
#4 Videos. It’s amazing how quickly a real good, informative, funny, or silly video can go viral. While highly professional videos are great, to date our most amateur, quickie videos are still the highest viewed videos on our youtube channel.
#5 Partnerships. The key to great partnerships is making sure both parties benefits equally. Both parties want to increase traffic to one another’s blogs. Examples could include, guest blogging, swapping advertising space (buttons or text links), reviewing each others products, ebooks, or services, or even promoting a great blogpost or their free downloads. The more creative you get, the better your relationship will blossom from colleagues to friends for life.
It is possible to drive traffic to your new blog very fast…or, well-established blog (after all, who doesn’t want more readers!?) However, the trick is actually
- having a plan in place,
- knowing your audience,
- setting goals, and
- taking action to reach them.
